This study analyzes the role of the New Development Bank (NDB) in financing infrastructure in Brazil. Through a qualitative approach, based on secondary data, the performance of the NDB is compared with that of the World Bank, examining projects approved by both institutions. The results demonstrate that, although both play a supporting role to national efforts, the NDB stands out for its focus on areas less served by the World Bank and its ability to mobilize resources for strategic infrastructure projects. It is concluded that the NDB is a relevant mechanism to complement infrastructure investments in Brazil, filling gaps and boosting development. It is suggested that future research should investigate the NDB's capacity to expand its capital and its interaction with other international financial institutions, considering its political nature within the BRICS context.
